Dog Training

WHAT I DO

I LOVE DOGS! I have had a dog in my life since I was born. My life revolves around Alfie. And at a young age, my mother taught me to sew and do handcrafts. So when an opportunity arose that I could spend my days with dogs and my evenings making dog accessories, I grabbed it!

I loved office life, but I was always worrying that my dog was home alone and bored because he was being left alone when I was at work. And whilst Alfie wasn’t like a lot of dogs who have behaviour issues caused by boredom and loneliness (like yapping, chewing, destroying, trying to escape, just general bad behaviour) he was still lonely. So I decided to ‘chuck it all in’ and help dogs!

I had been someone’s mum since 1999 and when the kids left home, I became Alfie’s Hooman – and now I spend my days walking and caring for dogs. I want to help all dogs and cats (mad cat woman too!) by offering a range of pooch care services to help keep them fit, happy and healthy.

If you would like to chat to me about your requirements, please call or whatsapp me on 07973430952 or email me at kathy@alfieandhishooman.co.uk

Dog Training help owners to deal with dog training problems and ensure that both owner and dog have fun whilst learning new skills. Whilst the dogs and owners are having fun, they are gaining confidence and relationship building. Only positive reinforcement is used whilst training the dogs.

Dog walking where your dog gets a good sniff in different locations. Dogs smell history every time they go for a walk, which is why they get so excited. Just like us reading a book, your dog will be stimulated during the walk and will be more inclined to rest when they get home! They can go on half hour or hour adventures in group or solo walks
Pet Pop in visits – I feed your cat, dog or puppy, let them out to the loo, give them a brush, play with them – you let me know what your pet needs. This is great for puppies but all dogs enjoy the company.

I am fully insured, have a dog behaviour qualification (and studying towards another). I am also fully trained in canine first aid. I also have years of experience with dogs of all sizes. In fact, I have never been without a dog, from Scottish Terriers when I was a baby to Westies, cairn terriers, collies, spaniels and now a lovable Heinz special! I always meet your dog before our first walk. It’s a way of both of us making sure we are right for each other. I come and meet you and your dog and then arrange for their first solo, half hour walk with me.
